This remote role is central to delivering constructible, thoughtful BIM solutions on large-scale electrical projects, especially where client BIM understanding may vary. The VDC Manager's leadership will bridge communication gaps, simplify complexity, and ensure digital coordination supports installation success. This position serves as a launchpad into larger strategic leadership roles within VIATechnik's global delivery network, contributing to digital design innovation and offering exposure to advanced technologies like AI-integrated coordination platforms and Digital Twins. The role is ideal for individuals motivated by technical problem-solving, mentoring engineers, managing high-impact deliverables, and bringing clarity to ambiguous situations, offering autonomy and ownership while collaborating with major clients.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a similar discipline.
• 5+ years of experience providing implementation, training, and support in BIM and VDC.
• Managed 2-3 detailers and/or VDC Engineers.
• 3+ years of experience working for an electrical trade contractor.
• Experience in combining and coordinating BIM updates, running clash detection on revised components and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience modeling, drafting, producing drawings, and reading electrical plans.
• Capability to work effectively in a self-directed way within an extremely fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• A proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an "all hands on deck" approach.
• Ability to work some early and/or late hours to coordinate with project teams in other countries.
• Experience leading online meetings and training sessions across remote project teams using platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Field construction experience.
• Been involved in the administrative side of projects: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting.
• Knowledge of other primary building systems: foundations, primary building structure and walls, electrical, fire protection, specialty systems, conveying systems and interior finishes and the sequence of assembly of each.
• Experience managing BIM and VDC across a project lifecycle.
• Understanding of real world constructability of modeled systems.
• A portfolio of work you can share.
• Proven track record of effectively working with and managing teams remotely.
• Background in providing professional services to clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery across 3+ complex electrical VDC projects.
• Build and strengthen client relationships through project excellence and achieve repeat work from at least 2 clients.
• Drive knowledge sharing and mentorship across a global team.
• Develop and lead at least one internal training session on electrical coordination best practices.
• Combine and coordinate BIM updates.
• Run clash detection on revised components and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Model, draft, produce drawings, and read electrical plans.
