About The Position

The VDC Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective workload distribution, facilitating interdepartmental communication, educating team members on VDC service group concepts, and ensuring seamless coordination of tasks within the organization. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, teaching skills, and effective communication abilities to support project success. Tomarco Contractor Specialties LLP, dba ISAT Total Support, designs, manufactures, and distributes non-structural engineering and design systems for commercial construction applications. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred with 5+ years of on-the-job experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate team members effectively.
Advanced knowledge in software tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and BIMTrack.
Knowledge of building codes, LEAN construction techniques, and LEED principles.
High level of attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, and a critical eye for design.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
With 5+ experience in VDC coordination, education, or related roles is advantageous.
Their objective is to effectively populate, coordinate design models and export any other project related information for the VDC Service Group.
Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Act as a primary point of contact for communication between VDC Manager, Project Managers (PMs), client, and various teams.
Proactively identify and resolve conflicts to maintain project momentum and foster collaboration.
Speak in front of audiences to contribute to problem-solving conversations, coordinate with other teams, and relay projects to relevant personnel.
Expert knowledge in Thermal Design. This includes the ability to manage a scope of work, correctly model using all resources, and quickly identify potential problems in Thermal Design.
Manage VDC leads for upcoming projects.
Point of Contact for DM’s and PM’s for status updates.
Reports to DM for team updates.
Work with VDC Specialist I, II, and III team members for issues with training and possible ways to improve.
Have a direct line of communication to the PM for all issues related to the project.
Expert knowledge in Thermal Terminology.
Expert ability in creating models for new scopes of work. This includes creating the views, the layouts, the filters and all that applies.
Expert knowledge of all ISAT and PSD manuals and details.
Expert understanding of the ISAT workflow to ensure a clash free model.
Expert ability to talk with the customer about issues and join meetings daily if needed.
Expert knowledge in scheduling and printing sheets at the end of the scope of work.
Expert ability to create and export .pcf file.
Ability to install and troubleshoot thermal specific tools in Revit.
Provide VDC Service Group education to new hires, covering fundamental concepts and tools necessary for project execution.
Deliver VDC Service Group education to experienced personnel, focusing on advanced topics and techniques.
Coordinate task completion, model synching, and other project activities with peers to ensure alignment with project timelines and objectives.
Ensure accurate and timely entry of project-related information in NEXUS data while utilizing communication and coordination platforms to manage task completion state, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals.
Use communication and coordination platforms to manage project completion and task performance.
Ensure correct use of naming conventions for all Thermal related content.
Be in communication with the PM and DM for all issues at the first instance so it can be resolved quickly.
Possess an advanced understanding of BIM360 fundamentals, engineering details, and construction industry standards to support project requirements. Utilize this knowledge to instruct others on difficult project tasks.
Conduct peer checks and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices for clash detection and model coordination.
Provide project direction and delegation for third party models.
Use advanced knowledge of Revit to audit, compact, and manage the synchronization backup of models within systems. Problem-solve for any non-standard tasks and uses of the system, including file configuration.
Facilitate meetings and liaise with project teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment of goals.
Provide leadership in modeling oversight and project scheduling to optimize team performance.
Provide input and feedback on standards and business practices to senior management.
Provide individual performance review feedback and coordinate team member reviews.
Demonstrate an advanced understanding of construction method standard and building codes, including but not limited to IFC, UFC, and CBC, to determine application and provide practical insights into decision-making processes.
Detect the need and proper application of both LEAN and LEED construction techniques when appropriate.
Capability to model thermal bracing and supports in Revit and evaluate constructability of proposed implementations.
Familiarity with ISAT products and solutions, including ISAT hardware and engineered solutions.
