Our VDC Field Layout Technicians are the people who turn coordinated models into real-world accuracy using robotics, layout tech, and a sharp eye for detail. Requirements

2+ years of experience in electrical construction or field layout work
Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings and specifications
Familiarity with BIM workflows and model-based layout concepts
Strong communication skills-you can talk to field crews and office teams without translation needed
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites

Nice To Haves

Experience operating a Robotic Total Station (preferred but not required)
Experience (or exposure) to tools like: Trimble FieldLink, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks

Responsibilities

Operate a Trimble Robotic Total Station (RTS) to set precise layout points in the field
Use Trimble FieldLink to import and execute digital layout files
Translate BIM models and construction drawings into accurate field layouts
Layout electrical systems including: Cable trays, Duct banks, Generators, Lighting & light poles, Switchgear & transformers, Under-slab conduit
Support field teams by ensuring everything is installed exactly where it's supposed to be (no guessing, no rework)
Coordinate daily with project managers, superintendents, and foremen
Assist with field verification and as-built documentation
