The VDC Director leads Wohlsen's Virtual Design & Construction function and sets the strategy for using model-based construction across Business Development, Preconstruction, and Operations. The role is responsible for the VDC team, standards, and growth, building a multi-region capability that helps project teams reduce risk and improve execution. The Director ensures VDC is engaged early and consistently throughout construction, moves coordination upstream, standardizes deliverables, and provides visual progress tracking that gives project teams and owners a model-based view of project status against plan. The role translates field and client needs into services that measurably reduce rework and conflicts. The position manages and develops VDC Managers and Engineers, directs tools and technology investment, and represents VDC with clients, ownership, and company leadership. It sets company-wide standards, workflows, and minimum deliverables; directs consultants and outsourced modeling partners; and builds the case for VDC's role across the full project lifecycle, including a potential future extension into facility operations and owner O&M support. The position requires little to no standing or walking during a normal day, sitting for 7 or more hours, and driving 1–4 hours. It also requires lifting or carrying up to 10 pounds and occasionally performing physical activities such as bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling, crawling, using foot controls, and working at heights above 6 feet.
