About The Position

Murphy Company, a leading mechanical contractor in the St. Louis and Denver markets since 1907, is seeking a VC Detailer for its BIM team in the St. Louis office. This role is crucial for creating 3D piping/plumbing models from design drawings, requiring strong collaboration with design teams and an understanding of trade coordination for clearances and clash detection. The company will provide training in their internal Trimble layout system and support with troubleshooting and equipment management.

Requirements

3+ Years’ Experience with BIM/VC
1+ Years Field Experience with Plumbing Installation
Understanding of the Current Plumbing Codes (2009 and 2016)
Willingness to understand the intricacies of the St. Louis Plumbing Code
Willingness to learn robotic total stations and how they work with modeling software
Understanding of Max Fabrication Techniques
REVIT
AutoCAD
Navisworks: Manage and Review
Revizto
BIM Collaboration (C4R, BIM 360)
Project Coordination Meetings
Detailed piping/plumbing models, layouts, drawings
Generating Bill of Materials (BOM) reports
Creating isometric spool drawings
Providing Construction support
Communication and organizational skills
Understanding of Architectural, Structural, MEP, and Fire Sprinkler drawings

Autodesk Fabrication CADmep, is a plus

Responsibilities

Creating 3D fabrication models for piping/plumbing from design drawings
Detailing a system that can be fabricated and installed in compliance with all applicable codes, industry standards and installation requirements
Learning and understanding Trimble process to relay modeling layout data to field
Following Murphy Company SOP’s and Guidelines to supply error free information to Murphy Shops and Field Teams.
