About The Position

This position is responsible for extensive customer contact providing broad-based banking products. In addition to handling customer transactions, the teller will make recommendations of additional products and referrals to the customers as well as leads to the Bank officers. The teller is also responsible for following banking regulations and procedures while maintaining protection of the Bank‘s assets. This position may contain some approval and/or vault functions. It may also provide an opportunity to progress to a Lead Teller position by taking on and learning additional responsibilities, completing further training, and performing well at essential Vault functions.

• Ten key proficiency
• Previous personal/computer experience

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years teller/cash handling experience
• Previous recent experience using ITI Teller Platform

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers and handling broad-based banking service and customer transactions.
• Maintaining branch cash at appropriate levels as determined by management.
• Communicating all Central vault transactions with Accounting Department.
• Balancing vault cash and preparing incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Assisting with daily balancing of cash to general ledger.
• Monitoring daily activity of assigned GL accounts; Mc/Visa, cash items, cash clearing, teller difference.
• Performing basic paying and receiving functions including cashing checks, handling deposits, savings withdrawals, loan and escrow account.
• Balancing currency and coin.
• Filling customer change orders.
• Processing mail and night depository.
• Processing cash advances.
• Issuing Cashier Checks, Visa Travel Money Cards and Visa gift cards.
• Redeeming US Savings Bonds.
• Buying and Selling Canadian currency.
• Preparing stop payment requests as back up to Customer Service.
• Balancing ATM and stocking ATM supplies.
• Balancing coin counter.
• Balancing in-bank statements as assigned.
• Buying and selling cash internally to and from vault supply.
• Accurately and efficiently processing all transactions/work through teller platform.
• Following the maintenance schedule for your assigned image capturing machine.
• Proper item storage and the protection of customer information.
• Safeguarding assigned cash/currency at all times and adhering to cash limits.
• Adhering to dual control procedure as defined by policy.
• Balancing assigned cash currency as defined by policy.
• Processing off-ages by end of day.
• Assisting with all other areas of securing the Bank’s cash coin and negotiable instruments.
• Promoting the improvement of Stockman Bank through quality customer service, promotion of products professionalism in conduct and diligent work ethic.
• Greeting all customers pleasantly and making them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Handling transactions quickly and professionally.
• Effectively handling customer questions and problems.
• Using effective listening and observing skills to help identify and resolve customer needs.
• Spotting sales opportunities and referring business consistently.
• Cross-selling other services whenever the opportunity arises.
• Keeping up to date on pricing and products.
• Relaying customer comments and or complaints to the Operations Officer immediately.
