About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising daily Coin and Vault operations which may include deposit verification, change order preparation, currency/coin inventory management and vault operations. This individual will be expected to perform supervisory responsibilities for personnel actions and monitors staff performance. To ensure accountability and security of all funds and adheres to compliance, industry standards, audit requirements, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of operations experience in a vault, cash, or coin processing environment.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills and accuracy are essential.
  • Must possess solid written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and banking database systems is required.
  • Familiarity with computerized timekeeping systems and cash processing equipment is preferred.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, some Saturdays, and some holidays.
  • Knowledge of transit vault, coin vault, and CMS operations
  • Ability to maintain a stooped or squatting position for several minutes to perform the sorting function.
  • Ability to walk continuously between bins, vaults, booths, and counters.
  • Ability to stand on the concrete floor for approximately 80 percent of the shift.
  • Ability to meet State requirements for handgun license/permit or Security Officer Commission as well as Forklift certification
  • A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic mechanical repairs and adjustments, troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with assistance, communicate with a high level of detail to tech support.
  • Ability to push/pull wagons, carts, buggies, dollies loaded with cargo weighing up to several hundred pounds.
  • Unrestricted ability to stand, walk, bend, squat.
  • Ability to repetitiously lift bags of coin weighing from 30-55 pounds from ground level to a height of at least 4-feet, approximately one (1) bag per minute.
  • Ability to lift boxes of rolled coin (weighing as much as 12-25 pounds) off conveyor belt and position on rack on level from 6 inches to 3 feet off floor level.
  • Ability to count, add and subtract; record numbers and signatures; read weights and distinguish coin denominations.
  • Ability to sign and record numbers by hand, make entries on records, and prepare reports.
  • As part of the qualification process for the Vault Supervisor position, a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) is required. This evaluation requires the successful completion of testing in the following areas: Lift:- 25lbs vertical lift from 10 inches to 66 inches from the floor (1X) Lift-Carry:- 18lbs vertical lift from 1 inch to 44 inches from the floor, and horizontally transfer 15ft (4X)- 18lbs vertical lift from 10 inches to 36 inches from the floor and horizontally transfer 300ft (1X)- 50lbs vertical lift from 10 inches to 36 inches from the floor and horizontally transfer 2ft (2X) Push-Pull:- Horizontally transfer 47lbs of force on a sled (single, non-dominant arm), a distance of 1ft (2X) Repetitive Coupling:- Squeeze Jamar Hand Dynamometer requiring forces up to 30lbs / both right & left hands (4X each)

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and recommend changes to policies and procedures to ensure accountability and security of all currency and coin transiting the department.
  • Complete and maintain oversight and coordination of the route and dispatch function
  • Serve as liaison with the Federal Reserve Bank, banks, thrift charters and commercial customers to identify and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of transit vault, coin vault, and CMS operation-assist with coin and cash operations as needed up to and including processing and packing orders
  • Operate, maintain, diagnose and repair machinery consistently and correctly over, maintaining box coin inventories to ensure customer availability
  • Analyze complex factors to decide appropriate actions and resolve situations not covered by set policies or procedures
  • Ensure proper balancing of the coin inventory and or vault daily for each shift when necessary
  • Responding to customer inquiries and/or complaints
  • Assist in the awareness of the safety of employees, facilities and vehicles through training and monitoring of policies and procedures.
  • Security of cargo and terminal through training, monitoring, and enforcement of policies and procedures
  • Assist in meeting budget guidelines by monitoring overtime and workflow, controlling overtime hours.
  • Monitoring employee vacation schedules.
  • Maintaining the effectiveness and efficiency of operational functions
  • Communication with all employees to immediately resolve any outstanding issues and/or complaints
  • Control of losses through the implementation of effective risk management, training, supervision, and discipline
  • Control of damages and injuries through the implementation of safety programs, training, supervision, and discipline
  • Responsible for training, counseling, disciplining, conducting, and evaluating employees under their direction daily
  • Direct vault operations, including structure and scheduling, establish procedures, and enforce policy
  • High level of observable safety, security, and effectiveness of operating practices and use of equipment
  • Leadership by example – modeling appropriate behaviors and regular observation/ monitoring of route activities and crew needs
  • Completion of any and all additional responsibilities that are assigned by the Branch Manager and/or other Management Team Members on an “as needed” basis
