About The Position

Performs ultrasound examinations on adult patients contributing to the efficient operation of the department and promoting Hamilton Medical Center's philosophy, to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care. Assists in the clinical training of ultrasound students. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and assess data reflective of the patients’ current status in relation to their age specific needs.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year certificate from an accredited sonography program
Equitable qualifications to be considered but not limited to 2-year degree or certificate from an accredited school of radiologic technology, with experience as a sonographer
ARDMS, ARRT (S) or ARRT with extensive on the job experience
Required to maintain continuing education credits as established by the appropriate licensing agency
CPR Required
Ability to operate ultrasound equipment
Ability to communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization
Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patients’ needs that are age appropriate
Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for age group of patients served
