About The Position

MUSC Health Chester Medical Center is excited to be hiring a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join their Radiology Team! This role operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. The technologist performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Responsibilities include recording test results, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and ordering supplies when needed. The role also involves reviewing physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedures. Additionally, the technologist may communicate to the OB/GYN nursing team the status of the patient's condition pre and post-procedure and performs ultrasound imaging for fetal diagnosis and anomaly detection for patients with high-risk indications.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRT(S) eligible, must obtain certification within 12 months.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

  • 1 year of modality specific experience preferred.
