About The Position

Cedars-Sinai is a highly acclaimed medical institution, recognized for its excellence in patient care and employee engagement. They are seeking a Vascular Technologist to join their Vascular Surgery team. This role involves utilizing ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic studies, supporting physician diagnoses, and ensuring high-quality imaging. The technologist will be responsible for a variety of vascular ultrasound procedures, including Doppler and endovenous laser ablation, acquiring measurements, preparing preliminary reports, and communicating findings to physicians. The position also requires verifying physician orders, retrieving studies from PACS, adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols, preparing patients, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating effectively with colleagues in a team-oriented, service-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request
  • Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physician’s diagnosis
  • Responsible for providing high quality imaging
  • Responsible for the performance of vascular ultrasound studies including doppler and imaging guided endovenous laser ablation
  • Appropriately acquires echo vascular measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
  • Ability to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
  • Ability to retrieve studies from PACS for review
  • Performs appropriate infection control processes
  • Provides an environment of care that supports patient safety
  • Addresses patient informative needs as pertains to requested studies
  • Prepares patients for the study
  • Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
  • Supports team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a "team approach" to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department
  • Utilizes professional language and action at all times.
