About The Position

Performs sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. This role involves setting up and adjusting equipment, manually maneuvering transducers to perform exams, implementing safety standards, and performing quality control procedures. The technologist will conduct routine and complex studies, assist physicians in imaging procedures, and recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations. A key aspect of the role is evaluating, synthesizing, and communicating diagnostic information to the attending physician or radiologist, as well as effectively communicating with patients and the healthcare team, providing education regarding procedures and equipment to ensure patient understanding.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Science required upon hire OR Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
  • RVS - Registered Vascular Specialist required upon hire OR RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist required upon hire
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
  • In-depth skills and knowledge of the specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of specialization.
  • In-depth knowledge of the specialization as well as business needs to recommend appropriate action.
  • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
