Together, these facilities provide comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties while supporting undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and clinical research. The Department of Surgery at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon to join our expanding academic practice. Appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to build a comprehensive vascular surgery practice within a growing academic health system while caring for a diverse patient population throughout the Gulf Coast. The successful candidate will practice across the USA Health system, including USA Health University Hospital, USA Health Providence Hospital, and affiliated outpatient clinics, while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. This faculty position offers the opportunity to develop a broad clinical practice encompassing both open and endovascular vascular surgery while participating in the continued growth of an established vascular surgery program. Requirements
- MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
- Successfully completed an ACGME-accredited Vascular Surgery fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Alabama
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in clinical care, education, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient vascular surgical care, including both open and endovascular procedures.
- Participate in an equitable call schedule.
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple USA Health locations.
- Collaborate with specialists throughout the health system.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning.
- Actively participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.
- Engage in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and other scholarly activities that support the academic mission of the Department of Surgery and the University of South Alabama.
