About The Position

Performs basic and intermediate vascular lab exams. Provides quality patient care using vascular lab equipment. Assists with clinical rotations in both in-patient and outpatient settings as the schedule dictates and participates in after hours and on-call services. integrity and teamwork. Requirements

  • Graduate of a formal/Director approved Sonography program
  • One (1) year Vascular Sonography experience performing non-invasive vascular lab studies. Clinical rotations during a formal educational program may be considered as experience.
  • ARDMS- RVT or CCI(RVS)
  • Computer skills (word processing)
  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy and hemodynamics

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic and intermediate vascular lab studies.
  • Performs vascular lab procedures using independent judgement during the exam to accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal findings.
  • Exams must follow IAC approved scanning protocol and the Smart Protocols must be utilized when possible.
  • Reviews images and paperwork to ensure quality exams are complete, thorough and prepared for review by reading physicians.
  • Participates in the daily workflow by watching the technologist worklist to ensure timely patient care.
  • Schedules exams through the transport system if applicable.
  • Participates in the Vascular Lab after hours, on-call, weekend and holiday schedules.
  • Operates all vascular lab testing equipment and software packages including but not limited to ultrasound and physiological equipment, EMR and Structured Reporting and PACS.
  • Proficient in the use of telephone, printers, and fax machines.
  • Reports any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel and removes equipment from service.
  • Cleans the equipment and work areas daily and stocks rooms with supplies and linen.
  • Performs monthly deep cleaning of equipment and maintains appropriate logs.
  • Attends staff and departmental meetings as well as educational conferences.
  • Participates in the discussions.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in the field and participates in collecting data, images and articles as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
