About The Position

Guthrie Medical Group's Vascular Lab is seeking a Vascular Sonographer for a full-time, day shift role. This position offers a variety of experiences without the stress of changing hospitals or teams, providing a supportive environment to build a flexible and well-rounded career. The role involves performing non-invasive vascular testing on peripheral vessels and may require travel to other Guthrie Clinic offices in New York and Pennsylvania.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Registry eligible for RVT through ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International).
CPR training required within six‐months of hire.
Registry eligible candidates must sit for and pass registry within six (6) months of hire.
Must possess excellent communication and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree preferred.
Twelve months of full‐time clinical ultrasounds/vascular experience is preferred.
This position will involve some travel.

Responsibilities

Responsible for knowing the vascular system, diseases, and symptoms.
Perform ultrasound testing on the carotid and peripheral arteries, veins, and abdominal vasculature.
Recognize abnormal findings and report them to the Technical Director or Vascular Surgeon reading.
Properly prepares results for interpretation, within an approximate time period.
Responsible for proper cleaning of equipment between patients.
Responsible for proper calibration of equipment on a regular basis.
Promotes the Guthrie Clinic and the Vascular Department in a professional manner.
Participates in monthly staff meetings, assists in orientation of new employees, and demonstrates willingness to accept non-routine work assignments.
Accept responsibility for completion of all annual mandatory training (OSHA, compliance, etc.) and attending Coding classes within one year of employment.
Assist in smooth departmental operations by filling in for other members of the vascular ultrasound staff, answer vascular lab related phones, schedule add on studies as necessary.
Late day technician is expected to stay in clinic until all patients have been taken care of unless physician states otherwise.
Travel between worksites and unloading equipment at work sight.
Responsible for knowing emergency numbers and how to respond accordingly.
