About The Position

The Vascular Radiology Technologist, PRN, will provide technologist coverage for 24-hour emergency endovascular surgical services. This role ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies, recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergency situations, and performs or assists in performing procedures, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic exams. The technologist will also maintain files and compile records, provide instruction and education to healthcare personnel and patients, and perform routine analysis on imaging equipment to ensure proper working conditions and minimize downtime.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of Special Procedures Training Program or one year experience as a technologist in Special Procedures.
  • Completion of one week sterile technique training program to be provided by the OR education coordinator, if no prior Special Procedures experience or with surgical technique.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
  • CPR certification required - BLS.
  • Good oral, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize clinical responsibilities.
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems.
  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy.

  • Registered Cardiovascular-Interventional Technologist (ARRT- CV or VI) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies.

  • Performs or assists in performing procedures and/or diagnostic tests and/or therapeutic exams.
  • Maintains files and compiles records according to procedure as required for accurate and current departmental records and/or reports.
  • Provides instruction, education and consultation to health care personnel and patients to promote and improve quality patient care.
  • Maintains appropriate education/credentials to accomplish work objectives.
  • Performs routine analysis on imaging equipment to assure proper working conditions and a minimum of downtime.
