About The Position
Cares for patients hospitalized for neurologic conditions with an emphasis on stroke including clinical decision making for thrombolysis, thrombectomy and ICU care. Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Vascular Neurologist to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We're all about well-being, starting with yours. Requirements
- M.D./D.O. with residency training in an approved ACGME Neurology program.
- Board eligible or certified in Neurology.
- Fellowship training and board certification/eligibility in Vascular Neurology (Stroke).
- Current New Mexico License required.
Responsibilities
- Works as a neurohospitalist/stroke neurologist in rotation with other members of the neurohospitalist/ stroke neurology team across the spectrum of care from ED to ICU to floor care to hospital discharge
- Collaborates with other specialties in the multidisciplinary care of neurology/stroke patients
- Participates in development and maintenance of clinical pathways in coordination with other specialties to provide highly reliable, high-quality care for stroke patients in alignment with certifying bodies requirements
- Participates in quality improvement work in stroke and neurology by determining key performance indicators, process metrics and outcomes measures
- Provides stroke-specific review of cases referred to the medical staff's peer review committee on an ad hoc basis
- Participates in recruitment and retention of physicians and APCs on the neuroscience team (neurology, neurohospitalist, neurosurgery, neurointervention)
