About The Position

Performs vascular sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. This role involves positioning patients, performing imaging procedures, analyzing results, and ensuring image quality. The technologist will also review patient history, educate patients, prepare and administer contrast media when ordered, monitor patient condition, and prepare equipment and supplies. Additionally, they will select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, implement safety standards, and perform quality control procedures on equipment, troubleshooting any malfunctions.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school OR six months to one year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification issued by the ARDMS, OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through CCI, OR Vascular Sonography (VS) issued by the ARRT, OR if non-credentialed, obtain RVT within 12 months of hire.
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Compliance with ethical and legal standards and behavioral expectations as set forth in the code of business conduct and company policies.
  • Compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices and Privacy Policies and Procedures.
  • Compliance with all data security guidelines established within the Company’s Handbook of Privacy Policies and Practices and Information Security Policy.
  • Adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations as well as company policies and training requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
