About The Position

Mount Carmel is seeking a Casual Vascular/Echo Tech to help cover open shifts and PTO coverage. This position offers competitive pay rates, scheduling flexibility, and the opportunity to be part of a collaborative, patient-focused team. The Cardiovascular Sonographer is responsible for performing Echocardiography and/or Vascular diagnostic testing as per Accreditation Guidelines. Reports preliminary findings for physician interpretation, Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.

Requirements

Registered by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) as a RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered by CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) as a RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist)
BLS certification required

Nice To Haves

Associates or Bachelors degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred
Minimum one (1) year experience in cardiovascular imaging preferred

Responsibilities

Performs all studies according to policy and procedures and standards established by Accreditation body.
Abnormal pathology reported appropriately.
Explains procedures to patients, answers patient's questions.
Ensures comfort of patient.
Assists with patient transport as needed.
Obtains pertinent health history.
Enters accurate and complete data in diagnostic testing equipment and documentation system.
Ensures accuracy of reports prior to dispatch.
Communicates pertinent patient data to appropriate team members.
Collaborates with other departments to provide optimum patient care.
Knowledgeable of all equipment pertinent to specific area of testing.
Able to perform basic troubleshooting.
Participates in evaluation of new equipment.
Responsible for personal professional development.
Maintains registry status or actively pursues registry.
Responsible for completion of annual competencies.
Participates in accreditation/re-accreditation process.
