About The Position

The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and diverse team of educators to partner with its Superintendent in moving the district toward its goals. The district represents 35 schools and programs, serving approximately 19,000 students Pre-K–12. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12, with a coaching staff consisting of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with student athletes. The modified program for grades 7-8 emphasizes discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and dedication, preparing students for higher levels of high school competition. At the high school level, teams strive for success, emphasizing the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

Assist in coaching the Varsity Volleyball team for the Fall 2026 season.
Develop student athletes' skills, academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition.
Encourage maximum participation in the modified program (grades 7-8) by stressing discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and hard work.
Foster a competitive environment at the high school level, striving for efficient team and individual effort.
