About The Position
The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and diverse team of educators to partner with its goals of ensuring all students graduate high school with the skills needed to be ready for college and career. The district serves approximately 19,000 students Pre-K–12 across 35 schools and programs. The coaching staff consists of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with student athletes. The modified program (grades 7-8) emphasizes discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and hard work, preparing students for higher levels of competition. High school teams (freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity) strive for success, focusing on academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Requirements
- New York State Coaching Certification
- Valid First Aid course
- Valid Adult CPR certification
- Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA)
- Fingerprint Clearance
- School District Recommendation
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check

- Valid Concussion Management Certificate
- Previous Coaching Experience
Responsibilities
- Coach student athletes in volleyball.
- Develop skills and teamwork in student athletes.
- Foster academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.
