Varsity Track and Field Assistant Coach- Jumps
About The Position
Durham Academy is accepting applications for a part-time varsity assistant track and field coach specializing in high jump, long jump, and triple jump. The coach will teach, coach, and mentor up to 15 high school athletes participating in one or more of these jumping events and will report directly to the Head Coaches. The position runs from February through mid-May. Practices are Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. There are no weekend responsibilities other than attending the Conference and State Meet at the end of the season. The coach must attend practices and meets.
Requirements
- Experience competing in one or more jumping events at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
- Ability to teach basic, intermediate, and advanced event mechanics, technique, and form.
- Ability to develop and implement workouts appropriate for varying skill levels.
- Ability to communicate and work well with coaches, parents, and student-athletes.
- Enjoy helping student-athletes reach their potential.
- Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
