About The Position

Coloma High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as a full-time Varsity Softball Coach. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the sport, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This role is crucial in developing the skills of our players, promoting teamwork, and enhancing the overall athletic experience at Coloma High School.

Requirements

Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level, preferably in softball.
Strong understanding of softball rules, strategies, and training techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and the community.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that focuses on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Plan and conduct daily practices, ensuring that all players receive appropriate instruction and feedback.
Organize and oversee all aspects of the varsity softball program, including scheduling games, managing team logistics, and coordinating travel arrangements.
Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, expectations, and any concerns.
Monitor the academic progress and overall well-being of student-athletes, ensuring they maintain eligibility and balance their academic responsibilities.
Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the softball program and enhance the overall athletic experience at Coloma High School.
Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with the latest coaching techniques and strategies.
Participate in fundraising activities and community outreach to support the softball program.
Maintain all necessary records, including player statistics, attendance, and compliance with school and district policies.
