About The Position

Cole Valley Christian Schools is seeking God’s wisdom as we search for a Christ following, dynamic, and gifted individual to join our coaching staff. Athletics is an integral part of Cole Valley’s vision of developing the whole person to impact the world for Jesus Christ. We believe that God uses athletics to teach us spiritual truths. The Varsity Head Baseball Coach will demonstrate strong leadership, sportsmanship, player development skills and have a heart for discipleship.

Requirements

• Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
• Be spiritually mature with demonstrated leadership experience.
• Knowledge of high school baseball rules, strategy, and player development
• Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level and/or collegiate playing experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor student athletes.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.

Nice To Haves

• Previous youth discipleship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the program head of CVCS varsity baseball by establishing philosophies and continuity throughout all levels of the program.
• Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity baseball practices, games and program activities.
• Develop student-athletes’ baseball fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and character.
• Build and maintain a positive team culture
• Supervise assistant coaches and develop, mentor, and disciple coaches throughout the program.
• Monitor athlete academic eligibility and behavior standards
• Ensure compliance with school, district, league, and state athletic regulations.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration.
• Organize offseason conditioning and player development opportunities.
• Manage equipment, uniforms, and program inventory.
• Collaborate with Athletic Director in ensuring transportation, facilities, equipment, and safety requirements are met.
