About The Position

Westbury Christian School is seeking a dedicated and passionate leader to head their Varsity Girls Basketball Program. This role involves program leadership, spiritual and character development of student-athletes, ensuring compliance with TAPPS rules, mentoring assistant coaches, and engaging with the school community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in competitive basketball, a commitment to Christian education, and a desire to mentor student-athletes in all aspects of their development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; required for future full-time teaching opportunities
• Minimum of five (5) years of varsity-level coaching experience
• Strong understanding of TAPPS regulations and high school athletic development.
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions, meet physical demands of coaching (including lifting up to 40 lbs.), and work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, and travel).
• A visible commitment to Christian education, a personal relationship with Christ, and full affirmation of the school's Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement instruction in basketball fundamentals, strategies, and conditioning, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and biblical principles.
• Mentor student-athletes to represent Christ through their actions, cultivating character, servant leadership, and sportsmanship on and off the field.
• Ensure full compliance with all TAPPS rules and school policies.
• Assist the Athletic Director with scheduling, roster eligibility, budgeting, and securing officials.
• Assist in the supervision, coordination, and evaluation of assistant basketball coaches, fostering a unified coaching culture rooted in Christian values.
• Maintain clear, respectful, and consistent communication with players, parents, faculty, and the broader school community.
