This position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The coach must adhere to the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics, model non-discriminatory practices, and assume complete responsibility for the conduct of their team. The role involves supervising equipment, establishing positive relationships, attending meetings, conducting organization meetings, preparing schedules, and following procedures for athlete injuries. The coach will also be responsible for submitting rosters, reporting scores, notifying staff of cancellations, supervising team members after practices/games, completing end-of-season reports, and complying with all relevant policies and regulations. Decision-making authority is limited to the specific team, with broader issues to be escalated to the Athletic Director. The coach will assess player skills, monitor players during competition and practice, model sports-like behavior, and participate in special team activities. Additional duties include attending staff development and performing other assigned tasks.
