About The Position

Lumen Christi Catholic High School in Jackson is seeking a Varsity Boys Baseball Head Coach. The Head Coach is expected to serve as a Christian role model, embodying the school's mission statement through their management, appearance, ethics, and behavior. They should foster an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration, hold athletes to high standards of academic accountability, sportsmanship, and commitment, and maintain open communication with the athletic director, students, parents, and other coaches. The coach is responsible for promoting and enforcing student discipline and creating a safe and healthy environment for student athletes, including completing all MHSAA requirements. Specific to baseball, the coach must have 5+ years of head coaching experience at the high school level, assume complete responsibility for the program, develop and communicate clear goals, model and teach necessary skills, assess program needs, and coordinate with the Athletic Trainer regarding injuries.

5+ years of head coaching experience at the high school level.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Christian role model and enforce what Lumen Christi stands for by committing to the mission statement.
Be a positive role model through management, appearance, ethics, and behavior.
Provide an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration among coaches and players.
Hold athletes to a high standard of academic accountability, sportsmanship, commitment to the sport, and success on the field.
Be open and honest in communicating with the athletic director, students, parents, and other coaches.
Promote and enforce student discipline within your athletic program.
Create and maintain a safe and healthy environment for Lumen Christi student athletes, including completing all MHSAA requirements.
Assume complete responsibility for all aspects of the Lumen Christi Catholic School Boys Baseball program.
Develop and communicate clear/specific goals for the Lumen Christi Boys Baseball program.
Model and teach skills necessary to be successful.
Provide opportunities for players to learn, develop, and improve their God given baseball abilities.
Assess program needs and communicate needs and program suggestions to the athletic director.
Design and implement a program that the collective boys baseball program is expected to be fully involved in.
Coordinate and work with Lumen Christi Athletic Trainer regarding injuries to make sure student athletes receive proper and safe care.
