About The Position

Reed City High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic program as a Varsity Bowling Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for bowling and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position involves assisting the head coach in all aspects of the varsity bowling program, including practice planning, skill development, and team management.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of bowling techniques, rules, and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, athletes, and school staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Must pass a background check and meet any other requirements set forth by the school district.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the bowling season.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in coaching or playing bowling at a competitive level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach in developing and implementing practice plans and training sessions that enhance the skills and performance of the team.
  • Provide individual and group coaching to student-athletes, focusing on technique, strategy, and sportsmanship.
  • Help organize and supervise team practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
  • Support the head coach in preparing the team for competitions, including travel arrangements, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Monitor and track the progress of student-athletes, providing feedback and encouragement to promote their development.
  • Foster a positive team culture, emphasizing teamwork, respect, and commitment to the sport.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the bowling program.
  • Attend all team events, including practices, competitions, and meetings, as required.
