About The Position

Abundant Life Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, experienced, and relational Varsity Baseball Head Coach to lead our baseball program. The head coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes athletically, spiritually, academically, and personally while building a positive, competitive, and team-oriented culture. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, organized leader, and positive role model who understands that coaching at Abundant Life is an opportunity to use athletics to help students grow in their relationship with Christ and develop character, discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and leadership.

  • Varsity-level experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the varsity baseball program in alignment with the mission and values of Abundant Life Christian School.
  • Establish a positive team culture built on faith, character, discipline, effort, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision, expectations, and standards for the baseball program.
  • Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, administration, coaching staff, parents, and other school personnel.
  • Help develop consistency and continuity throughout the baseball program, including JV levels when appropriate.
  • Plan and conduct effective practices that develop fundamental skills, baseball knowledge, athletic ability, and game awareness.
  • Develop individual players while teaching athletes how to contribute to the success of the team.
  • Provide appropriate opportunities for players to develop leadership, responsibility, and confidence.
  • Promote good sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, coaches, and the game.
  • Serve as a Christian role model both on and off the field.
  • Integrate biblical principles and Christian character development naturally into the program.
  • Encourage athletes to understand how their faith should influence their attitude, work ethic, relationships, leadership, and response to success and adversity.
  • Participate in team devotions, prayer, and other appropriate spiritual-development opportunities.
  • Support and uphold the Christian mission, beliefs, and values of Abundant Life Christian School.
  • Prepare the team for practices, games, tournaments, and postseason competition.
  • Develop appropriate game strategies and make in-game decisions.
  • Coordinate team schedules, transportation needs, equipment, uniforms, and other program logistics in cooperation with the Athletic Department.
  • Maintain accurate rosters and other required athletic records.
  • Follow all WIAA, Trailways Conference, Abundant Lifel, and Athletic Department policies and regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with players, parents, coaches, school administration, and the Athletic Department.
  • Establish clear expectations for players and families regarding attendance, conduct, playing time, communication, and team responsibilities.
  • Address concerns and conflicts promptly, professionally, and in accordance with school policies.
  • Represent Abundant Life Christian School positively within the school, community, conference, and opposing-school environments.
