About The Position

Trade Supply Group is a unified network of locally respected, individually managed building supply businesses– committed to helping our customers optimize every project. This posting outlines several distinct roles within the warehouse and delivery operations: Warehouse Associate: Primarily responsible for processing inbound/outbound transactions accurately and efficiently, applying inventory control procedures, and servicing clients and departments. This role involves operating a sit-down forklift and using a handheld scan gun. Outside Sales Representative: A full-time, field-based role focused on growing the customer base and developing strong, long-term relationships throughout an assigned territory. The ideal candidate is motivated, enjoys building relationships, winning new business, and identifying opportunities for account growth. CDL Boom Driver: Responsible for operating a boom crane to load/unload trucks for customer deliveries and warehouse operations. This role also involves driving a box truck or flatbed to deliver building materials to customers/jobsites. Non-CDL Driver: Responsible for driving a box truck or flatbed to deliver lumber, plywood, doors, hardware, and other construction materials to customers/jobsites. This role requires the ability to load and unload trucks and maintain compliance with DOT regulations.

Requirements

  • Building Materials: 2 years (Preferred)
  • College Degree (Preferred)
  • Required to lift & move at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Pick & package orders of plywood for shipment using sit-down forklift.
  • Assist in customer pick-ups by locating orders via handheld scan gun, pulling correct items, and assisting the client load their vehicles.
  • Assist in unloading and loading trucks.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness (i.e. moving skids off the floor, keeping entrance to exits/entrances clear, discarding empty packaging, etc.)
  • Maintain safe work environment by reporting hazards to management
  • Prospect and develop new business through customer visits, cold calling, lead follow-up, and appointment setting.
  • Build, maintain, and grow relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Analyze customer buying patterns to uncover new sales and account growth opportunities.
  • Provide knowledgeable, responsive customer service throughout the sales process.
  • Follow up with prospects and customers to drive sales and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Unload and load trucks daily.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse team to confirm all products to be delivered are loaded onto the truck.
  • Loads and/or unloaded materials that require the operation of a crane/boom by rigging, planning and hoisting a variety of heavy construction materials onto delivery trucks.
  • Calculates the boom/crane capacities and weights and checks clearances so that buildings, hydro wires and foundation of the machine will not be damaged during operation.
  • Calculates weight of materials to ensure it is not over weight limits of the truck and/or DOT regulations.
  • Inspects and maintains crane/boom equipment in order to ensure safety and prevent damage to equipment and surrounding structures.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and follow traffic laws and any relevant safety protocols when operating the truck.
  • Provide exceptional Customer Service while making deliveries, which includes meeting expected time frames, ensuring the quality and accuracy of the product upon delivery, maintaining a positive attitude and following any special instructions.
  • Obtain necessary Proof of Delivery photographs and signatures from customers to confirm delivery of product.
  • Research and understand the most efficient routes throughout NY to ensure deliveries are being made in a timely manner.
  • Pick up items for Customer returns.
  • Keep truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Inspect vehicles for any issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Able to unload and load trucks daily.
  • Required to lift & move at least 50 lbs.
  • Work with the warehouse team to confirm all products needed to be delivered are loaded to the truck.
  • Always maintain compliance with all DOT rules and regulations.
  • Follow traffic laws and any relevant safety protocols when operating the truck.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while making deliveries which includes meeting expected time frames, ensuring the quality and accuracy of the product upon delivery, maintaining a positive attitude and following any special instructions.
  • Obtain necessary Proof of Delivery photographs and attach to Eclipse via mobile app. Signature from customer must also be present to confirm delivery of product.
  • Report any issues or canceled deliveries to Customer Service or the Operations Manager.
  • Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
  • Inspect vehicles for any issues and perform preventative maintenance.
