About The Position

The Variety Pack Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations on the plant floor while increasing production and revenue. The Variety Pack Supervisor will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance and will ensure that objectives are attained in a consistent cost-effective manner that is consistent with quality requirements. This role is a night shift position (6:00 pm - 6:30 am) and reports directly to the Variety Pack Manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership position, preferably Food and Beverage.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering results and leading people/projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong and effective communication skills – written & oral.
  • Computer Proficiency (MS Office Applications).

Responsibilities

  • Manages production staff members, including providing team development, conducting performance reviews, scheduling staff, job assignments, and continuous process improvements.
  • Ensures production staff adherence to all health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Oversees all phases of the production process and reviews all maintenance needs within the department with the Maintenance & Engineering management staff.
  • Assists the Health & Safety Program to meet all Company goals.
  • Works alongside the Variety Pack Manager to meet or exceed external audits, assisting with internal audit groups and providing better quality management techniques.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, including correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating monthly safety meetings, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents.
  • Supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system.
  • Manages and controls facility equipment to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations.
  • Assures compliance with all Food Safety policies, procedures, and regulatory criteria, including Good Manufacturing Practices, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and associated Preventive Controls.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Provides administration and supervision of the plant production function as directed.
  • Adheres to all health, food safety, HACCP, Allergen, sanitation standard operating procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintains all records accurately and completely.
  • Holds self and team accountable to policies and procedures.
  • Helps where needed to support the team.
  • Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Participates in audits and investigations as needed.
  • Supports a culture of Operational Excellence.
