About The Position
The Van Driver provides transportation for community residents and assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing activities that require van transportation. The role also supports excursions as an Activity Assistant, monitors residents’ activity to help ensure their safety, and maintains vehicles in safe working order.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in the elderly and knowledge of servicing their needs.
- Demonstrated activities or recreational experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicles in accordance with warranty requirements and/or the internal maintenance plan to ensure they are safe and in working order.
- Act as an Activity Assistant during excursions and stay with the group except when parking the van.
- Transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and shopping trips.
- Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is necessary to assure resident safety.
