About The Position

The Van Driver position at Granite Hill Estates is a per diem (as needed) role to pick up shifts. The hours per month will vary depending on need, and this is not a part-time or full-time position. The main responsibility is to ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of residents, contributing to their well-being by providing reliable transportation for various activities and appointments. The role is part of the Engagement & Activity Team, which aims to bring purpose and joy to the community.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to operate a passenger van safely and responsibly.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with seniors.
Respectful and patient attitude towards residents.
Physical ability to assist residents with boarding and exiting the van.
Must be able to lift and fold various sized walkers.
Completely comfortable working with seniors of all ages and abilities.
Criminal Background Screening is required.
All candidates will be required to show valid proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 before commencing work or commit to obtaining full vaccination within 30 days of commencing work, unless they receive an approved exemption.

Responsibilities

Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.
Ensure the comfort and well-being of passengers during transit.
Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van safely.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the van, conducting routine inspections.
Assist in community programs and activities as needed.
Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and community members.
Report any issues or incidents promptly.
Uphold a friendly and helpful demeanor to create a positive experience for residents.
