The purpose of the Van Driver is to oversee the timely, consistent, and accurate transportation of adults and children in our programs. This position requires safe, consistent, friendly, and professional service to our neighbors in need. The driver will partner with the Elevate Connections, Elevate Work, and Elevate Kids departments to provide rides to our neighbors in the community. This position includes duties related to driving, calling neighbors to facilitate the rides schedule, and communicating when neighbors have been picked up and dropped off for appointments. The Van Driver also aids in cleaning the building as time will allow. The job is Monday-Friday with varying times based on program schedules. On average, this job is 28 hours per week and will include split-shifts. Some hours include working nights due to program and events at Elevate Branson. Work is performed in the field, operating under all weather conditions. The Driver is exposed to noise, fumes, and various road conditions. A Driver must be proficient in oral and written communication, customer service, and decision-making skills. Drivers should have the ability to operate the van efficiently, create a route plan, and adhere to strict timetables that allow our neighbors to arrive at appointments on time. A driver must be prepared to handle distractions, mechanical issues, passenger behaviors, traffic, or Connections dispatch requests resulting in delays and scheduling changes. The driver may have to preform various tasks around the Elevate Branson campus when they are not driving. Driving schedules are created several days in advance. However, rides are subject to change the day of and flexibility is key. Most importantly, the driver must be flexible, have admirable work ethic, and be dedicated to providing friendly, consistent, and safe service for our neighbors.
