Under general supervision, the Van Driver transports passengers and/or mail and materials to an assigned geographical area. This mission-critical position ensures the safety of the vehicle and passengers while transporting clients to and from the center and local appointments during the day. The driver will assist clients boarding and departing the van and securing seatbelts as needed. A key responsibility includes routine vehicle maintenance, such as scheduling oil changes, tire rotations, and other services to ensure safe operation. The driver must report all accidents, incidents, and breakdowns involving vehicles. Additionally, the role requires completing and submitting appropriate documentation, including computer and tablet operations for downloading manifests, logging trips, and documenting/submitting billing for transportation services. A consistent, high-quality customer-focused orientation is expected when conducting business and providing services. The driver must also complete and/or attend all mandated in-service education in a timely manner and assist with minor office duties. This position provides service to Crisp & Dooly counties, and transporting individuals served is a requirement.
