About The Position

AEDD is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Van Driver to transport adults with developmental disabilities to and from the Lacy Landers Skills Training Center. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, timely, and comfortable transportation while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations and organizational policies.

Requirements

• Valid Arkansas Driver's License required
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to pass background check, TB test, and drug screening
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Dependable and punctual
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Professional and respectful when working with individuals with disabilities
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist passengers as needed
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions
• Employees must comply with all drug and alcohol policies in accordance with Arkansas law. Being under the influence or testing positive for prohibited substances is not allowed during employment.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience driving a van (15-passenger preferred) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Safely transport consumers to and from the facility on assigned routes
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transport
• Complete daily route documentation, including mileage and sign-in sheets
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure proper fueling before or after routes
• Follow all traffic laws, including full stops at railroad crossings
• Remain fully attentive while driving (no phone use or distractions)
• Follow all AEDD transportation policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with staff regarding schedules or concerns
