Requirements
High School Diploma or an equivalency (GED, HSED)
Good Driving Record.
Valid Wisconsin driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ten years of experience as a licensed driver.
Customer service experience and/or experience working with seniors and adults with disabilities.
Nice To Haves
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds preferred.
Ability to recognize the need for and to arrange regularly scheduled vehicle maintenance.
Knowledge of proper lifting and carrying techniques.
Ability to communicate and relate to seniors, and adults with disabilities.
Ability to recognize significant changes in health and well-being of consumers and act in their best interests.
Recognize and respect the needs and beliefs of individuals of diverse cultures.
Demonstrate respect for individuals and their families.
Ability to complete required reports and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Ability to effectively manage time to complete tasks.
Ability to document consumer contributions accurately
Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate safe food handling techniques.
Responsibilities
Pick up and deliver meals from the contracted provider to designated meal sites and home-bound consumers.
Monitor meal recipients for changing conditions and alert program staff to conditions that may indicate a decrease or increase in functioning or an increase in risk, including but not limited to dementia, elder abuse/neglect, depression and alcoholism.
Monitor quality of meals delivered and report concerns to program staff.
Monitor, record, and document temperature of food on a regular and ongoing basis.
Distribute and collect quality assurance surveys from consumers.
Collect and deposit consumer contributions as appropriate.
Plan delivery routes to be as efficient as reasonably possible.
Distribute information to consumers as appropriate.
Deliver supplies to meal providers and other nutrition program staff as needed.
Maintain accurate daily records of meals delivered.
Arrange/schedule regular maintenance of the Department’s vehicle and keep the vehicle clean and free of debris.
Inform program staff of any problems with the vehicle.
Report, as required by county policies and procedures, all vehicle accidents.
Observe all county vehicle regulations and safety requirements.
