About The Position
As a substitute/on-call, operates and maintains a passenger van in transporting passengers along designated destinations according to assigned schedules; and performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license (Hawai‘i Type 3 or equivalent)
- Possession of a valid State of Hawai‘i Department of Transportation Medical Examiner Certificate
- One (1) year general work experience (Qualifying General Work Experience: Any work experience which may involve the basic skills: reading, writing, computation and communication)

Responsibilities
- Transports passengers over specified routes
- May assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle
- May secure passenger’s wheelchair to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchair during trip
- May operate radio or similar devices to communicate with base station or other vehicles
- Conducts daily inspection of vehicle
- Services vehicle
- Maintains service and passenger trip records
- Reports defects of vehicle for appropriate attention and repair
- Maintains vehicle in clean and sanitary condition
- May make minor and emergency repairs to van as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
