About The Position

This part-time position is responsible for driving a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities, running errands, and picking up food and other in-kind donations. The role also involves assisting with set up and clean up for Corps functions/programs, cleaning in the store, and sorting items in the back of the store area. The schedule is typically 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM, with hours varying based on need, totaling approximately 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Two years experience operating an automotive vehicle, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid State Driver's License.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
• Ability to spend the night away from home due to extended trips.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation for members to and from Corps services each Sunday.
• Provides transportation for children to and from afternoon activities.
• Provides transportation for Home League members to and from meetings.
• Makes deliveries and runs errands.
• Picks up food and other in-kind donations from community organizations.
• Assists with room set up for Corps programs/functions.
• Assists with breakdown and cleaning of area upon closing/finishing.
• Assists with cleanup in the store.
• Sorts items in the back of the store area.
