About The Position

Provides chauffeur service for including transportation of patients to and from Oncology Outpatient Services locations in Beebe Healthcare vehicle.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to drive a vehicle.
• Must be able to read and write and understand written and oral instructions.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be physically able to assist others up steps and into wheelchair lifts.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required depending on vehicle type
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or required within a specified timeframe)
• Previous driving experience (professional transport experience preferred)
• Experience working with elderly or medically vulnerable populations preferred

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from medical center within Sussex County, Delaware.
• Operates medical center owned vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle and notifies appropriate individual regarding vehicle need for maintenance.
• Prepares and maintains adequate transportation logs, vehicle fuel consumption log, and other data as requested.
• Maintains established medical center policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
• Assists patients from home into vehicle and from vehicle into medical center.
• Maintains a positive demeanor at all times.
• Assists medical center in the transporting of other medical center items as directed.
