About The Position

Flexibility and the ability to work on weekends and holidays are essential. As a van driver/banquet houseman at the Hilton Garden Inn and Convention Center Harlingen, you will be in charge of setting up, maintaining, and cleaning all meeting and banquet spaces in accordance with client requirements or as instructed by banquet and other management. This position necessitates adherence to the strict safety and quality standards set by Hilton and BC Lynd. Additionally, you will drive a van, making sure that guests are transported in a timely and safe manner.

Requirements

  • Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in meeting and banquet room setup, cleaning, and upkeep.
  • A track record of successfully vacuuming floors and cleaning windows and walls.
  • Knowledge of how to handle, move, and store banquet furnishings like chairs, tables, risers, and lecterns for the dance floor.
  • Previous hotel or related industry experience is preferred.
  • The capacity to approach every interaction with visitors and staff in a considerate, polite, attentive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to set departmental priorities to fulfill deadlines.
  • It is necessary to have a high school degree or its equivalent.

  • Knowledge of how to handle, move, and store every piece of banquet equipment, such as tables, chairs, risers, and lecterns on the dance floor.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and storage of meeting room supplies, such as pads, linens, and other essential items.
  • Maintain a spotless environment by doing cleaning tasks like vacuuming floors and cleaning windows and walls.
  • Carefully handle all equipment when assembling and disassembling banquet rooms in compliance with management instructions and client specifications.
  • To ensure smooth operations, prioritize and multitask departmental tasks in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • Pay attention to, comprehend, and address any issues brought up by staff members and visitors, offering solutions in a kind and customer-focused way.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all staff members and visitors while upholding a polite and professional manner.
  • Ensure proper movement, storage, and care of all banquet equipment, including tables, chairs, risers, and dance floor lecterns.
  • As a van driver, assist in the timely and safe transportation of guests and supplies.
  • Maintain a high level of service and hospitality at all times while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out extra tasks as directed by management to assist with the hotel's general operations.
