Houseman Job Description Position Title: Houseman Department: Housekeeping Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Supervisor Position Summary The Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of public areas, back-of-house spaces, and supporting the housekeeping team to ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role plays a key part in upholding brand standards and ensuring efficient daily operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Ability to move carts, furniture, and supplies
  • Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays
  • Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards
  • Deliver friendly and courteous service to all guests
  • Support the hotel’s commitment to quality and guest satisfaction in alignment with Hilton brand standards

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of all public areas including lobby, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and meeting spaces
  • Assist Room Attendants by delivering linens, towels, and supplies to guest rooms and housekeeping carts
  • Remove trash and debris from guest floors, public areas, and service areas
  • Clean and organize housekeeping storage rooms, closets, and linen areas
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust assigned areas regularly
  • Respond promptly to guest requests such as additional amenities or items delivery
  • Set up and break down meeting rooms as directed (tables, chairs, equipment)
  • Support laundry operations as needed (transporting linens, stocking shelves)
  • Maintain cleanliness of exterior entryways and assist with light groundskeeping if required
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or lost and found items to management
  • Follow all hotel safety, security, and cleanliness standards
