About The Position

This is a part-time position at Autumn Glen. The schedule includes Sundays from 9 am to 3 pm, Mondays from 9 am to 5 pm, and Wednesdays from 9 am to 5 pm. The role involves ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of residents and assisting with engaging activities to bring joy and connection to their lives. The Van Driver will primarily focus on transportation when drives are scheduled, and otherwise help make residents' lives more enjoyable through fun and engaging activities.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to operate a passenger van safely and responsibly.
Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with seniors.
Respectful and patient attitude towards residents.
Physical ability to assist residents with boarding and exiting the van.
Criminal Background Screening is required.
All candidates will be required to show valid proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 before commencing work or commit to obtaining full vaccination within 30 days of commencing work, unless they receive an approved exemption.

Responsibilities

Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.
Work with the Engagement Director to help run a variety of activities, like exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
Ensure the comfort and well-being of passengers during transit.
Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van safely.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the van, conducting routine inspections.
Assist in community programs and activities as needed.
Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and community members.
Report any issues or incidents promptly.
Uphold a friendly and helpful demeanor to create a positive experience for residents.
