About The Position

Precision Pump & Valve (PPV), an MCE Company, is seeking a mechanically skilled Valve Technician to join their team in Floresville, TX. This role involves hands-on precision work focused on servicing industrial process control equipment, including safety relief valves, control valves, tank vents, regulators, and chemical injection pumps. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality, and a desire to build expertise in this specialized field. PPV serves critical industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, and refining, where reliable equipment is essential to prevent downtime.

Requirements

  • Prior experience servicing valves, pumps, or process control equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety relief valves, control valves, regulators, or related industrial equipment.
  • Background in oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial settings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in a shop, industrial, or technical environment.
  • Ability to read and use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Detail-oriented with solid documentation skills.
  • Problem-solver who can diagnose issues and work through them methodically.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a shop environment (standing, climbing, bending, stooping).
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Technical training or vocational certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, testing, and remanufacturing of industrial valves including safety relief valves, control valves, tank vents, flame arresters, and regulators.
  • Conduct re-machining and lapping of critical valve components to manufacturer specifications.
  • Clean, blast, and paint valve components to prepare for service and final inspection.
  • Operate shop equipment including blasters, parts washers, torches, forklifts, and precision measurement tools.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures to maintain VR certification.
  • Accurately document and enter job data including test results, parts used, and work performed.
  • Read and interpret measuring devices to verify component tolerances and performance.
  • Perform field service work at customer sites as needed.
  • Collaborate with shop and service teams to deliver reliable, on-time turnarounds for customers.
