About The Position

We specialize in offering cost effective solutions for a wide variety of industries including industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and environmental cleanup applications. We are looking to add more talent to our team. The Value Stream Supervisor is responsible for supervising and sustaining assigned value streams. This role requires demonstrated success in applying Lean principles such as single-piece flow, setup time reduction, inventory reduction, and 5S. The supervisor will oversee both machining and assembly teams, managing timekeeping, fostering positive employee relations, promoting team-oriented problem-solving, and administering employee discipline and recognition in accordance with Company policy.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in applying basics of Lean: Single piece flow, setup time reduction, inventory reduction, 5S, etc.
  • Supervises both machining and assembly teams.
  • Includes timekeeping while maintaining positive employee relations, team-oriented problem solving, and administering employee discipline and recognition as related to Company policy.
  • Demonstrates experience and knowledge in the manufacturing and/or industrial industry.
  • Be a self-starter while maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Demonstrates ability to work well with others.
  • Demonstrates ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Demonstrates excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of production and workers, including coordinating the production schedule.
  • Responsible for Safety and 5S in assigned value stream areas.
  • Responsible for team building and skill development of the employees in the value stream areas assigned.
  • Responsible for monitoring each production associate’s daily attendance for accuracy and approval.
  • Provides regular feedback and performance management to team – administers correction when necessary.
  • Conducts Daily Value Stream Walks to assess proper flow, identify disruptions, and ensure adherence to standard work instructions.
  • Coaches employees, collects defect data, and discusses disruptions and continuous improvement ideas with operators.
  • Monitors, assesses, and corrects safety and quality practices.
  • Improves key metrics: Safety, Quality, OTD, Schedule Attainment, Units Per Man Hour, and Productivity.
  • Manages Value Stream Board to ensure processes are implemented and followed.
  • Works with other value stream owners and managers to develop and administer consistent departmental and corporate policies.
  • Writes and conducts development plans for employees within the value stream.
  • Creates and sustains training and implements rotation of employees for cross-training and career development.
  • Improves On Time Delivery by managing staffing and increasing units per hour.
  • Improves 5S audit scores.
  • Increases Employee Engagement survey results by 5% from the previous year.
