About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Value Stream Manager to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Team in Reno, NV. Lead production and warehouse operations with responsibilities for staffing, productivity, safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory, employee engagement, and other managerial related activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing operations, supply chain, or related field is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years varied manufacturing experience including direct supervision of hourly and salaried employees
  • Strong leadership and team development skills; ability to coach and motivate employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of interacting across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, 6S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze operational data, develop metrics, and implement improvements.
  • Strong business acumen, including understanding of labor, inventory, cost, and production metrics.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the production and warehouse teams to effectively execute all aspects of the manufacturing plan and to meet agreed upon objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery / Service, Cost, and Inventory
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees through implementation and maintenance of company directed safety programs, compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, and promotion of a strong preventative safety culture.
  • Work with operations engineering for current and future requirements regarding manpower, equipment, and space to ensure value stream goals are met.
  • Responsible for maintaining effective systems of control for labor, overtime, capital, inventory, velocity, order accuracy, and operating expenditures.
  • Report key performance metrics during monthly operations meetings accordingly.
  • Utilize Legrand Way principles to eliminate waste throughout the manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for running the tier 2 daily operations meeting, conducting Quick Response Improve (QRI) and All Ideas Matter (AIM) programs, while promoting employee engagement at all levels of the plant.
  • Ensure proper collection and reporting of data necessary to track performance of the manufacturing operation against plan, identify root causes of issues, and support problem solving efforts.
  • Establish and monitor overall value stream performance for production, warehouse, and quality standards.
  • Manage production and warehouse personnel to accomplish operational goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership, training, and development for these individuals.
  • Administer plant policies in a firm, fair and consistent manner.
  • Conduct regular meetings with all employees to ensure good teamwork and cooperation throughout the operation and between functions.
  • Establish and maintain premium quality and customer service at all times.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
