About The Position

The Value Stream Manager directly supervises Production supervisors, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and non-salaried employees. This role supervises and coordinates the activities of a department or business unit consisting of a team of employees to produce quality parts to satisfy our customer. The manager will assist in establishing work procedures and policies that help ensure an efficient operation, and ensure work is scheduled properly to expedite workflow and meet all customer requirement specifications. The role is responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met, handling and storing hazardous waste in a compliant manner with all federal, state, and local regulations, and preparing reports, analyzing data, and presenting to management. The manager is also responsible for assuring employees are properly trained and for maintaining safe working conditions and enforcing safety policy. The role may give certain authority to assigned staff within their job scope to perform duties, make decisions, and use independent judgments. All employees will abide by the plant’s safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard. An employee should report, and if necessary stop, any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herself. The manager is capable of providing support as requested by any leader.

Requirements

  • Two or more years experience in a plant or general manager role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have working knowledge of lean production systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in related field preferred or comparable experience in key value stream role.
  • Previous supervision experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
