About The Position

We are currently looking for a Value Stream Manager to be based out of Byesville, OH. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for leading the Operations team of one of our Value Streams, and have full ownership for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a requirement.
Three to five years of management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, wire & cable industry is preferred.
Including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope, and complexity.
Strong Lean manufacturing background and the passion to grow your lean experience.
Proven track record of Lean accomplishments as well as cost out and process improvements.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications, and ability to analyze information and create reports.

Nice To Haves

Experience and background in accounting, human resources management, inventory control and strategic planning preferred but not required.
Experience with JD Edwards, SAP or any other ERP is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and implement the Atkore Business System, Lean Daily Management and Strategy Deployment Process.
Drive Atkore’s Lean Excellence strategy. Operational leadership, resulting in successful safe work environment, exceptional quality performance, lean implementation, productivity gains, a reduction in operating costs, inventories, and lead times.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
Create, implement, and modify when needed standardized work and ensure standardized work is followed by value stream team members.
Instill and maintain a positive “can-do” team atmosphere within the value stream by holding regular team meetings, assigning tasks to team members, empowering team member decision-making, and coordinating support services.
Develop and coach team members with necessary skills to identify problems and challenges, perform root cause analyses and implement countermeasures and solutions as necessary.
Develop and manage supervisors and associates in the value stream, including performance assessment, attendance management, professional development, etc.
Develop and implement cross training activities to ensure proper function of the work cells and maximize team’s potential.
Partner with Safety, Quality, and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, customer complaints, and labor issues.
Identify ways to strengthen the team’s commitment to Atkore’s core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
Take full ownership of the Value Stream’s Lean Daily Management, including Daily Gemba Walks, KPI and KAI boards.
Fully understand how you and your team impact Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Update training materials and procedures, as necessary.
Be managing an efficient team that delivers Atkore’s strategy.
Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.
Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.
Drive Lean Excellence strategy for your Value Stream. Develop strategies and implement projects to improve SQDC.
