About The Position

As a Valuation Services Director, you will lead and execute complex valuation engagements across a diverse portfolio of clients. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting financial analyses and market research to determine the fair market value of businesses, intangible assets, and other financial interests. You will compile and interpret financial data, industry trends, and economic indicators to support valuation conclusions and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations. You will play a key role in client interactions, including delivering presentations, participating in planning discussions, and contributing to proposal development and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience with business valuation-related projects within a CPA or advisory firm.
  • Collaborative mindset: You thrive in a team environment and embrace continuous learning.
  • Adept at working at a fast pace while maintaining precision and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and writing skills, including advising and communicating solutions and issues to clients.
  • Proficient in using relevant valuation transaction databases.

Nice To Haves

  • ABV, ASA, or CVA certification highly preferred.
  • Experience in intellectual property valuations, 409(a) valuations, employee stock option plans, valuations of business entities and intangible assets (ASC 805 & ASC 820), and/or purchase price allocations highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support financial analyses, assessments, and appraisals to determine the value of businesses or assets.
  • Conduct comparative market research to establish fair market value.
  • Compile and analyze financial data, industry trends, and relevant economic information.
  • Prepare valuation reports, appraisals, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform onsite inspections or asset reviews to verify asset condition and characteristics.
  • Adjust financial statements and develop discount rate analyses.
  • Participate in due diligence activities on M&A transactions, purchase price allocations engagements and goodwill impairment measurement.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, delegate tasks, and review their work for accuracy.
  • Interact with clients and prospects, including delivering presentations and participating in planning and quoting.
  • Contribute to proposal development and budgeting for new engagements.
