About The Position

As a Valuation Associate, you will work throughout the U.S. while conducting appraisals for government entities, municipalities, higher ed institutions and other client properties. This position involves significant travel (60%). The company offers specialized training, including a 2-week classroom-style course and up to 60 days of shadowed field training. A project completion bonus plan is also available. This opportunity is suitable for early-career professionals and those with prior appraisal experience. The company supports appraiser certifications (Marshall, Swift, ASA) once qualified.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree, or in lieu, equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware and software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to accommodate the travel requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, including air travel.
  • Ability to perform work comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists project managers in conducting customer site inspections for asset identification and analysis purposes.
  • Makes initial judgment on specific assets inspected and determines if the asset should be included in the valuation report (buildings, machinery & equipment, land improvements, etc.).
  • Documents asset attributes for valuation and reporting purposes.
  • Applies direct, standard, and normal costing techniques with consistency and accuracy (valuation of subject assets.).
  • Develops project management skills (project preparation, prioritizing tasks, effective client communication, scheduling, monitoring productivity, making decisions, solving problems, completing all necessary tasks efficiently, client follow up, and appraiser feedback.).
