About The Position

The Validation Engineer performs extensive bench testing and data collection to ensure that integrated circuits meet performance and functionality targets. The role works closely with design engineers on experiments and in-depth investigations to inform future designs. The position focuses on validation and characterization of timing products, including synthesizers, buffers, and analog and digital PLLs. Candidates do not need to meet every listed job requirement to be qualified.

Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
Three years of experience in a related field.
Hands-on experience with serial communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, RS232, UART, USB, and CAN.
Experience with schematic and layout design tools for mixed-signal PCBs; Allegro is preferred.
Experience with PCB signal-integrity simulation tools; Hyperlynx and Ansys are preferred.
Experience with PLLs and timing devices, including synthesizers and buffers.
One year of regular Python use.
Knowledge of laboratory automation using LabVIEW and/or Python.
One year of experience setting up and debugging bench hardware.
English proficiency, including the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and perform job responsibilities in a professional business environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience using Allegro for mixed-signal PCB schematic and layout design.
Experience using Hyperlynx and Ansys for PCB signal-integrity simulation.

Responsibilities

Automate laboratory data collection and analysis using Python.
Work on schematic design for high-speed signal PCBs.
Debug and analyze failures in devices returned by customers.
Develop and document bench-testing platforms for device validation and characterization.
Conduct work on timing products, including synthesizers, buffers, and analog and digital PLLs.
Develop validation plans and execute validation tasks.
Analyze bench data and prepare reports summarizing device performance.
